Artist: Nicolas Touron
Medium: Porcelain, video projector, aluminum, mix media; 54"Hx10"x10", 2014.
Often densely populated with a menagerie of characters and forms, Nicolas Touron's work reveals itself slowly and weaves a kind of never-ending story. This video incorporates footage from the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and, like his painting and sculpture, sets a narrative in motion. His work is complexly structured and imbued with humor and irony – but where the story goes and how it ends is ultimately left to each viewer to finish.
Born and educated in France, Nicolas received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts, where he also now teaches.
